The many combinations of the following options will ensure that your Burkart flute propels your artistry and technique to its fullest potential.

C# Trill Key

So named because it moves the B- C# and C- C# trills from the left hand to the right, while facilitating numerous other high-register trills.

Split-E Mechanism

Available on flutes with either in-line or offset G keys. When fingering E, a bridge mechanism closes the lower G cup independently from the upper G cup, correcting the venting for the E3. E3 can be produced at any dynamic level with security.

D# Roller

Can be added to the D# lever to facilitate the slide from the D# to other foot joint notes below it.

HAND-ENGRAVED DESIGN WORK

Can be added to the keywork of any flute to decorate and uniquely identify the individual instrument.

Additional Customizations

Ergonomic Key Design

Burkart’s key design offers unmatched comfort and ease. The sculpted curves of the thumb key and lever are angled to reduce left-hand strain and make the slide from B to Bb effortless. The movement from D# to each of the three lowest notes of the flute is easy and fluid.

Precision Keywork and Action

Cut from solid silver or gold, each Burkart key cup perfectly centers the flute pad, ensuring stability and reliability. White gold springs and felt bumpers allow for a perfectly balanced feel and silent key action.

The Burkart platinum flute is made from an extraordinary alloy, SSP, which intensifies the Burkart characteristics of resonance, responsiveness, and projection. Our platinum flutes offer the flutist the most extreme dynamic possibilities.

Our 14K gold flutes feature the traditional rose gold alloy, producing a full, deep, rich timbre. A solid 14K rose gold mechanism is also offered on the Elite model. A gold mechanism will not tarnish and retains its luster for many lifetimes of enjoyment.

10K Gold

The 10K rose gold flute offers the flutist the opportunity to explore the added depth of gold while retaining the beautiful brilliance of a silver flute. The 10K gold Elite flute is made with solid gold tubing in a 0.014″ wall thickness, silver tone holes, rings, and keywork.

9K Gold

The newest material to be added to the Burkart flutes family, the 9K rose gold flute is offered with drawn tone holes and sterling silver rings and keywork. The .014” wall thickness of the 9K gold flute offers a rich tone while retaining agile response and light weight in the hands.

9KAG Gold on Silver

Commonly referred to as our 9K/AG material, the exterior of the body and headjoint are 9K gold and the interior is sterling silver. This layered gold tubing is crafted in 0.016″ wall thickness, marrying the best tonal qualities of gold and silver. Rich in aesthetic appeal, the 9K Gold & Silver flute is extremely rewarding to play.

595 Platinum Enhanced Silver

Made from 5% pure platinum and 95% pure silver with a wall thickness of 0.016″, this flute delivers an increased spectrum of color commonly found with platinum, but with considerably less weight. Combining focused sound and ample projection, the tonal intensity is greater than with sterling silver.

998 Silver

Our 998 silver flute has the tonal depth, color, and projection of a platinum flute, the warmth of a gold flute, and yet speaks with the shimmer and brilliance of a silver flute. The resonance of this flute is the result of its extraordinary 99.8% pure silver tube that is both hard and reflective. Hardness imparts vibrancy, color, and a beautiful distinctive sound.

Sterling Silver

Burkart’s standard silver flutes are made of sterling silver (92.5%). Tubing thicknesses of 0.016” exemplify a solid, warm timbre, while a thickness of 0.018″ lends a darker, more robust sound to the sterling silver flute.

THE BURKART BAM CASE

Beautifully designed with durable ABS exterior and black velvet interior. The case shell is made with the BAM Hightech technique: a triple-ply structure made of high performance materials. An injected high-density polyurethane foam interior provides superior shock absorption.

Male/Female airtight seal and single flat latch with lock and key. Standard case size fits perfectly in our signature Burkart leather case cover.
